I am really not surprised that we got in trouble. I’m really not. But it was all worth it. It’s weird though, I shouldn’t find this funny, but I do. Instead of airport security, it feels like we are getting yelled at by a teacher for talking when we aren’t supposed to or something dumb like that. I just stand next to Harry and Louis trying not to let the grin show as the guy is going through the whole “you’re lucky you three aren’t getting kicked out of the airport” bullcrap.

Don’t laugh. Don’t laugh. Too late. A grin spreads across my face and I definitely don’t try to hide it as the security/police/(whatever he calls himself) officer looks at me straight in the eyes. “Do you think this is funny young lady?” I smile even more and can’t hold it back. “Yeah, actually, I do. What we did wasn’t even that bad.” I hear a laugh next to me from Harry and Louis leans from Harry’s other side to smile at me. Apparently, they found it funny too. This is just too funny. I would never do something like what we did at a big important airport like New York or Los Angeles, but here in the smallish airport like Des Moines, it was no problem. The joke of an officer in front of me starts to get red in the face as I just smile. “Do any of you three think I am going to just let you go and get back on your flight to whereever you are going? Because now, since you all think this is some big joke, that isn’t going to happen.” “You can’t hold all three of us here.” Louis says in a “I really don’t care what you say” kind of tone. “I mean, you wouldn’t be able to catch all three of us.” Instantly I got it. We are going to run to our gate and get on the plane. If we all ran different ways, the overweight guard would never be able to catch any of us and if we ran fast enough, he wouldn’t know what plane we are heading for. I look at Harry and he knows too. Louis continues, “Let’s see, One: there are three of us. Two: you don’t have a single idea who we are. Annnnnd…..Three:GOO!!!” As soon as I heard three, I took off in the opposite direction as the security guard. Louis and Harry both took off in a different direction than me. I ran. That’s it. I ran, while laughing. I hurdle a set of chairs and turn to throw off the guard if he was following me. I turn again to see Liam. I run straight towards him. Liam turns towards me and looks only slightly relieved. “Where are Harry and Louis?” I stop and look over my shoulder to see nobody. “Running.” is all I get out before somebody comes crashing into me. A couple of words escape my mouth that probably don’t need to be mentioned. My first thought was that it was the guard but as I hear the laugh, I know it’s Harry. We are both laying on the ground laughing when out of no where, Louis sprints down the terminal straight towards us. “He’s coming!” Harry and I look at each other and instantly scramble to our feet, laughing. “Go!” Louis screams as he gets closer to us, but Liam grabs onto mine and Harry’s wrists to stop us dead in our tracks. “Liam, let go! We’re gonna get in trouble! We can’t get caught!” Harry practically yells whiling trying to yank his wrist out of Liam’s grip.

Louis is still running towards us but soon reaches us and slows, out of breath “We have to get to the plane.” is all he says as he bends to place his hands on his knees. I look towards Liam, he looks genuinely confused. He looks towards Harry who was stubbornly still trying to break Liam’s grasp and then at the approaching security gaurd. “What is going on?”
Still out of breath, Louis begins explaining, “Well, we got bored, so we started playing on the luggage thing and then we had wheelchair races and took the luggage carts because we couldn’t find three wheelchairs, and then we tried to sneak Harry into the giant x-ray machine for the bags you check and we got caught and that big fat security guard that is “running” towards us right now is chasing us because we ran once he caught us and we were trying to get to the plane before he sees us and you just ruined our fantastic on-the-spot-plan.” Louis says in a long run-on sentence and also all in one breath even though he still can’t get a full breath from running. He also said it at an incredible speed while pointing at Liam before leaning back over to catch his breath. “I will take care of this.” Liam sighs while finally letting go of Harry and I’s wrists. Harry falls to the ground since he was still fighting for freedom until that moment. I laugh and help him up off the airport floor.

The guard finally reaches us and Liam steps forward to talk to him. He is red in the face and glaring at the three of us as we stand together in a line about six feet behind Liam. The guard talks to Liam for what seems like forever and finally gets the guard to let us go and get on the flight.

As we walk to our gate, Liam seems split between upset and humored. He tells Louis and Harry that if management finds out, they will never be trusted alone again, but also seems to find the whole situation a little funny at the same time. For the rest of the short walk, Liam mutters to himself and the rest of us try to hold in our laughs. We find our gate and enter the walkway to enter the plane. I step in first to see Alexis, Zayn and Niall sitting in the same seats as the first half of the ride.
I need to sit by Alexis, not because I really need to talk to her, but more just to be next to my best friend for company. Even though the boys weren’t bad company at all. I step into her aisle and start to sit. “Woah, wait. I have to tell Alexis something.” Harry says while gently pulling me out of the seat and escorts me to my original seat. “Sit here.” he advises and takes the seat I want. “This isn’t gonna fly Harry. I’m sitting in that seat.” I say while pointing towards where Harry just sat. “Okay love, just give me a moment.” I huff and turn to face forward in my seat. I see Zayn’s hand reach toward me. “What’s this?” He questions while gently grabbing the hot pink string hanging off the bottom of my v-neck. “See, that didn’t take long.” Harry interrupts while waiting in the aisle. Zayn breaks the loose string, I thank him, then take my spot next to Alexis.

The plane takes off and we begin the remaining flight to Los Angeles. “What did Harry want to tell you?” I whisper so he won’t hear. Alexis looks towards me. Her look says, I want to tell you but I shouldn’t. “Nothing.” “No, please tell me!” I beg. “What does he want to talk about?” Alexis looks towards Harry who was occupied with Louis. She looks me in the eyes “You.”
